THE BIRTH STORY PROJECT
The Birth Story Project began as a collaborative effort between Sista Midwife and High Heal Productions. What began as an idea to create a safe space for black women and to bring together our stories has turned into a movement.

BIRTH STORY PROJECT MONTHLY CIRCLES
The Birth Story Project is a safe space for Black women to come and speak about their birth experiences. The good, the celebratory, the traumatic, the painful and everything in between. It is an opportunity to share your story, to help another sista, to heal, to network, and to be a part of the movement to save Black mothers and Black babies.

BIRTH STORY PROJECT SURVEY
In an effort to expand our reach beyond our monthly circles, we are launching The Birth Story Project Survey. This survey is an anonymous tool for EVERYONE that has given birth in Louisiana regardless of race.
It is meant to help us formally gather information from people throughout the state as we begin our advocacy efforts. By sharing the stories of people giving birth in our state, we hope to increase transparency and accountability within our health system. Our goal is to make birth better for all mothers delivering in Louisiana so that they feel safe, respected, and cared for in their journeys.
